Requesting Prayer!-updated

***5:03pm on Sunday- We just returned from visiting Tina Byrd, the mother whose legs were amputated last night, in the hospital. She awoke and praised God for her life over her legs and we are thankful. She is going through a whirlwind of emotions and feelings, but she is stabilized and recovering in the ICU. Her two children are doing well, Chase and Taylor, and her husband, Jason, has been so kind to let us love on him. Please continue to praise God that no lives were lost, praise Him that more were not hurt, and pray that many lives would be eternally saved through this time. Also, please remember the family as they begin this new path. -Matt***

Tonight on the way home from our Carowinds trip, our youth bus full of our kids was hit by an oncoming car that ran a red light. We all made it roughly but safely to the side of the road, quite a bit shaken up but not physically hurt. Matt and several other parents rushed to the other car to assist the driver when they realized that everyone on our bus was safe and not injured. However, when they arrived at the car, Matt and another parent were hit by a second oncoming car that didn't see the stopped car, and may have even been distracted by our bus on the side of the road. Matt is completely fine other than some bumps and bruises, but we're asking prayer for the second parent who sustained massive injuries to her legs and was airlifted to the hospital.

Please be in prayer for this Mom who rushed out to care for someone else and was terribly injured herself in the process! Please also be in prayer for Matt who is understandably very shaken up as we pray for this Mom and her two kids in our youth group, and of course the rest of their family as well. Never forget as you pray that God has a plan, even when it is totally incomprehensible to our earthly eyes and faith, and we're praying that God will use this situation to His glory and to reach people's hearts in the way only He can. Please keep praying!

Jason and Alisa asked for prayer at small group last night, and Brian and I were stunned to hear about the accident. We are PRAISING THE LORD for the miracle that Matt escaped without serious injury, and that Tina is stable and recovering. We are also praying for you two, for your church body, and little Kenna.
Love,
Autumn

Matt and Linds -
We are praying for you both, for the youth, for this dear family and for all involved. Please, please let us know how we can help any of you. We would love to at least send cards to the Mom and her family if you will email me their address (if that's OK). Please give each other big, big hugs from us and know that we will be in extra prayer for you as you help this family and deal with all these emotions. We are so very thankful that Matt wasn't hurt physically but know that you must be dealing with an awful lot of emotions, but trust in the Lord and HE will guide your steps and quiet your heart and give you words for others.
Tonight D&I read this scripture (one of our favorites)and I wanted to share it with you two:
1 Tim. 1:7 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." You two are wonderful examples of the love of God's Spirit in this! May HE continue to use you in a mighty way -
We love you dearly and are praying hard -
-"Mrs C"

We are so glad you are ok! What a scary accident!
Be sure to take some time for yourselves and rest. I am sure you are feeling quite bruised - I was in a car accident in college and although I was fine, I couldn't get out of bed the next day. You and your church family will be in our thoughts and prayers. And thanks for keeping us updated on your blog.

"and may have even been distracted by our bus on the side of the road"

This kind of inward accountability is astonishing. It's like it "slipped" in the flurry of words.

Your church is valued to have people like you. Stay there and stay strong.
