Hurricane Irene.

Growing up here in North Carolina, it's easy not to take the constant threat of one storm or another all that seriously. I feel like we have a bit of weather hypochondria... schools close for the threat of a light dusting, and at the mere suggestion of any type of precipitation whatsoever, all the grocery stores immediately sell out of bread and milk (the two quickest spoiling food items... never understood that.)
So when the threat of the latest bad storm got downgraded from a category 3 hurricane to a category 1 tropical storm, we decided to brave the very windy rain for a bit of our own inclement weather staples... diapers and Chick-fil-A.
And, of course, we got dressed up. Any excuse to wear the red rain boots right? Southern women can accessorize even a hurricane.
I didn't get a picture of Finn passed out in the carseat, but he had his frog-footed jammies on... we figured frogs were appropriate for a rain storm!

I have to make sure to mention for posterity that this week in Raleigh we experienced a hurricane AND an earthquake (what was actually in Virginia, but we felt it here!), within 6 months of the tornado that blazed through town.
